Virginia Stage Company announces season 38
Virginia Stage Company's Interim Artistic Director Patrick Mullins and Director of Artistic Vision Chris Hanna took to the Wells stage to talk shop and announce the lineup for season 38, which kicks off in September. The season will feature two world premieres and two musicals, including the Tony award-winning, hit Broadway musical The Color Purple, co-produced with Norfolk State University and co-directed by Patrick Mullins and NSU's Director of Theatre, Anthony Stockard, who brought members of the NSU Theatre Company to perform a rousing number from Purple, as entertainment for the announcement party. The grand reopening of the newly renovated Wells Theatre is expected next January, during the revival of the highly-anticipated production of A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Chris Hanna.
